$3 Million Asbestos Mesothelioma Verdict

A Brownsville Texas jury handed a 3 million dollar asbestos verdict last week. The plaintiff , Oscar Torres (72 yrs old) , worked for Brown and Root at the Union Carbide Chemical plant in Brownsville, Texas from approx. 1974 to 1977. Mr Torres was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was unable to attend the trial.
The Verdict percentages were broken down as follows :
45% on Garlock — ( Crocidolite exposure confirmed on tissue digestion to Garlock 7705 African Blue Gaskets) —
45 % on Union Carbide — Premises Liability / Control over the details of the Mr. Torres’ work
10 % on Brown & Root — employer
