5.2 Million Verdict in Santa Monica

Today in Santa Monica a jury awarded Farid Malek 5.2 million in damages against Fluor Enterprises. The plaintiff Mr. Farid Malek worked at the Abadan Refinery in Iran during the 50s, 60s and 70s. He has been living in Orange County for the past 35 years. He is 82 years old. He has been married to Mary Malek for over 52 years.
The case was worked up by Schaffer, Lax, McNaughton and Chen – Kevin McNaughton, Yaron Dunkle and Jill Franklin. Edward Hugo and Shaghig Agopian were brought in for trial, Jill Franklin sat with them through trial.
Congratulations to Mark Bratt, Venus Burns and team who put on 20 witnesses and spent 14 days in front of the jury. They were offered next to NOTHING all through the trial and with Marks closing remarks they were able to obtain this verdict.
$254,048 in economic damages
$4,950,000 in non-economic damages
