Amber Long and Keith Binder of Levy Konigsberg obtained a $7.7 million verdict against Navistar making it the largest asbestos verdict in Syracuse, New York. The plaintiff, Mr. Nash drove a school bus manufactured by Navistar from 1957-1994 and was exposed to asbestos when he regularly spent time in the bus garage where the buses were being repaired. Navistar argued that Mr. Nash’s mesothelioma was caused solely by his work in a foundry. Mr. Nash instituted the lawsuit and testified in a deposition but died during the pendency of the case at the age of 81.
