Aphasia Center Parlor Party
By: Cohen, Placitella & Roth @ May 23, 2016
Imagine losing the ability to communicate through speech and the written word. What would your life be like? For those with aphasia this is a complicated and frustrating reality.
Aphasia recently took center stage at an event hosted by Cohen, Placitella & Roth PC, Attorneys at Law, as staff and clients of the MossRehab Aphasia Center joined invited guests to share the impact aphasia has on the lives of those with the disorder and their families. Led by the Aphasia Center’s own Karen R. Cohen, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Ruth Fink, Clinical Director, and joined by Tom Smith, Assistant Vice President of MossRehab, the program focused on the great strides made by those who seek help through the center and the research which is identifying new strategies to help people with aphasia.
Both a friend-raiser and a fundraiser, the event was highlighted by a gift from Cohen, Placitella & Roth to improve the family resource room adding to the comfort of those participating in the Aphasia Center programs. Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union 19 and Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union 25 of Northern New Jersey also presented gifts in support of the Aphasia Center’s efforts.
MossRehab gratefully presented Cohen, Placitella & Roth with a certificate of support and gratefully thanks both them and the Sheet Metal Workers for their generous support.
