Cohen, Placitella & Roth was proud to sponsor the American Cancer Society’s 40th Annual Bike-a-thon held on Sunday July 8th and to support firm partner Harry Roth who participated in the ride. One of over 3400 riders from 189 teams, this was the eleventh time Mr. Roth completed the ride.
As a result of his fundraising efforts, he has been recognized as a member of the Peloton Club which is comprised of the leading fundraisers for the ACS event. The ACS provides support for people and their families around the country who are fighting cancer and supports cancer screening programs in Delaware Valley Hospitals.
About the Bike-A-Thon
Each year, hundreds of cancer survivors take part in the Bike-a-thon, along with thousands of friends, family members, and others whom ride alongside one another to help, support and raise awareness for the fight against cancer.
Since its beginning, the Bike-a-thon has raised over $17 million for the American Cancer Society’s research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs.
The Bike-a-thon is the single largest biking event for the American Cancer Society.
“When people come together to make a difference in the fight against cancer, it can have a dramatic effect both on their community and on the disease itself. That’s why the American Cancer Society gives people the power to help fight cancer in communities around the nation with opportunities such as Bike-a-thon, and other advocacy and volunteer efforts,” according to the American Cancer Society.
Where the Money is Going
The money raised will be used to finance the American Cancer Society’s research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs.
