Cohen, Placitella & Roth Shareholder Harry Roth Leads Efforts in $100 Million Dollar Settlement of Tainted Steroid Medication Claims

AttorneyHarryRoth-professionalliabilityCohen, Placitella & Roth lawyers Harry Roth and Michael Coren serve as co-chairs of the Official Creditors Committee in the New England Compounding Center (NECC) Bankruptcy matter arising from tainted steroid medication vials compounded by NECC that led to a national fungal meningitis epidemic. On December 23, 2013, the Official Creditors Committee, along with the Bankruptcy Trustee and the MDL Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee announced a settlement in principle with NECC, its insurance companies and certain of its officers and directors to create a fund in excess of $100 million to compensate the victims and other creditors. This agreement in principle has been the result of a lot of hard work on the part of the Trustee and the committees and is a critical milestone in our efforts to maximize the recovery for the victims of this outbreak and their families.
