Kaiser Gypsum Loses Two Mesothelioma Trials

My friends Gil Purcell and Chris Hersom obtained a $6,000,000 punitive damages verdict against defendant Kaiser Gypsum Company, Inc., in San Francisco for Melvin Desin, a Navy and commercial electrician in the Bay Area. This followed a verdict on October 25, 2012, in which the same jury assessed $507,939 in economic damages and $6,720,000 in non-economic damages. The jury assigned 5 percent of the liability to defendant Kaiser Gypsum Company, Inc.

In the second, case a Los Angeles jury found in favor of Vincent Monaco, a retired plasterer diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, who spent most of his career working Kaiser Steel Fontana. My friends James Nevin and Ksenia Snylyk were amazingly able to obtain a verdict consisting of $479,228 economic damages and $1,500,000 non economic damages.The jury assigned 10 percent of the liability to defendant Kaiser Gypsum Company, Inc.
