Johnson & Johnson Lawsuit: Product Liability in the News

On February 6, 2020, a jury handed punitive verdicts of $750 million to Johnson & Johnson for claims the company knowingly sold baby powder containing asbestos, which led to the development of mesothelioma in four individuals.

The judge later reduced the verdict to $186 million. The mesothelioma victims were represented by three lawyers, including Christopher M. Placitella of Cohen, Placitella, & Roth P.C.
